Pioneer Park Coalition Debate a Success for Garrott Campaign

The mayoral debate sponsored by the Pioneer Park Coalition was an important conversation about many issues facing our city, specifically our downtown. While the televised debate format gave Luke only a fraction of the time needed to adequately discuss these issues, he provided a snapshot of his plans for improving the issues of homelessness, air quality and public safety throughout SLC.

We must continue to think big in order to solve our biggest problems, and Luke came through as the candidate with the most thoughtful ideas about how to approach Salt Lake City’s challenges. By putting solar power on every roof, affordable housing in every community and accessible transit options in each neighborhood, we can begin to tackle our biggest hurdles. Luke promised to make the issue of homelessness a top-five priority under his administration, and understands the complexity of the situation. He has served as the councilman of the Pioneer Park neighborhood for eight years, and brings not only his understanding of the issues at hand, but also the experience needed to get things done at city hall.

There will be many more debates and forums as this campaign progresses, and Luke will continue to advocate for cleaner air, safer streets and citizen involvement in city government. If you want a mayor who cares about the issues that are important to you, vote for Luke Garrott in this year’s primary.
